Previous owner's (a descendant of Foote) bookplate on front paste-down and notes in ink on front free end paper with some commentary on a few pages as well. Damp-staining to bottom edge of several pages and light aging throughout with occasional spotting and soiling. Black and white illustrations. A good reading copy. Nathaniel Foote (1592 - 1644), was an early English immigrant to Connecticut. He was part of the settlement party that founded Wethersfield, Conn, the oldest town in that state. This book explores the history and genealogy of Nathaniel Foote and his descendants. The Author, Abram William Foote, was a descendant of Nathaniel Foote and a noted genealogist of his time. The book begins with an introduction to Nathaniel Foote and his life in England before he immigrated to America in 1630.
