Sobre este artículo

T'Boli Publishing. SanFrancisco. 2004 (First Edition) . Oblong 4to, XVII, 173pp. Soft cover in stilff board with black flaps and vivid illustrations and learned opinions on both front and rear covers and design dictated absence of ffep's as well, in pristine as-new coindition with a blue spine that is very tight and sound, all text and internal artwork is unmarked and without notations as book is probably largely unopened, remaining in fine condition. A quite amazing book with interesting insights into the beginnings of American Imperialism and it reconstructs an unattractive era that was to shape and refine US intervention in the modern world. Full of faithfully reproduced colour political cartoons and is well annotated throughout.A quite rare book that has over 200 political cartoons from 1898 to 1906 to chronicle a little known war between the two countries that saw the deployment of 126,000 U.S. troops and lasted over fifteen years, killing hundreds of thousands of Filipinos beginning in 1899. It reveals how the public was misled in the days leading to the war with the election of 1900 pitting a pro-war Republican president against an anti-war Democrat. To this day the war remains hidden from the vast majoity of Americans and so this book brings the shameful episode in U.S.history out in the open.
