First edition, having advts. at rear of volume dated 1980. Published nearly 20 years after the publication of their Merry Go Round in Oz, this wonderful tale focuses on the Forbidden Fountain in the Emerald City (first introduced in Baum's The Emerald City of Oz) and its magical Water of Oblivion that causes instant amnesia in all who drink it. When Ozma accidentally drinks from the Forbidden Fountain and forgets that she is the true ruler of Oz, a series of breathtaking adventures ensue, and it's up to Kabumpo to help his friend regain her memory and retake her throne.
