Sobre este artículo
London: MacMillan & Co, 1892. 2nd Edition. Buckram. Very good. Thomas, F. Inigo. 8º, 20cm.; xxx, 244pp.; cream colored buckram with gilt flower urn, topiary and swallows pressed on cover, gilt title to spine, edges tinted green; small booksellers stamp to front pastedown: C.E. Thomas, Worthing; covers lightly soiled, interior very good. The more desirable 2nd edition, in relatively clean covers. In reply to William Robinson's forceful essay 'Garden Design and the Architects' Garden' Blomfield released this second edition within the same year as the first with a new, greatly expanded preface. Blomfield and Robinson would come to represent two opposing visions of the english garden, which pitted landscape gardeners against architects. It was a debate that would largely be resolved by the work of Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll over the following 20 years.
