Very curious work on the formation of the fetus, in which the author shows that the reasonable soul comes to lodge in the body of the fetus the third day after its conception. Thomas Feyens (Antwerp, 1567-1631) studied medicine at Leiden, then to the University of Bologna in 1590 and 1593. There he studied under Mercuriali, Aldrovandi and Tagliacozzi. He taught latter on medicine at Louvain.
