Philadelphia: Forrest Theatre, 1920. Very Good -. 1 leaf (21 cm.), folded; printed on both sides. The program for the production opening at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia on May 3, 1920. Words and music by Irving Berlin, Gene Buck, Rennold Wolf, and Dave Stamper; ballet composed by Victor Herbert; scenes by Joseph Urban. Includes a long quotation from the English poet John Drinkwater praising "the work of Mr. Ziegfolly." Performers include Eddie Cantor (1892-1964); Bert Williams (1874-1922), the first Black American with a lead role on Broadway; Marillyn Miller [sic Marilyn Miller] (1898-1936); Eddie Dowling (1889-1976); and Delilah Leitzell as Delyle Alda (1894-1927). Songs by George Gershwin include: Harem Life, A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody, Prohibition, You Cannot Make Your Shimmy Shake on Tea, A Syncopated Cocktail, and We Made the Doughnuts Over There. In Very Good- Condition: lightly soiled and browned; 3 closed tears of less than 1 cm. from edge; solid.
