Ephemera includes: Herald NY Tribune, Sunday May 19, 1940 newspaper article with photos on Osa and Martin Johnson ("A Couple of Nice Americans from Kansas - How Osa and Martin Johnson Drifted Into A Life of Adventure"). A large J. B. Lippincott newspaper ad with photos of the Johnsons, promoting the book "I Married Adventure." New York Herald Tribune, Sunday December 14, 1941 article "Home Folks from Kansas in the African Jungle," and their newly published book "Four Years in Paradise." Photo clipping - "Osa Johnson Comes to New York to Carnegie Hall" - this was shortly after their plane accident that took Martin Johnson's life and injured Osa (she is in a wheelchair in the photo). FOUR TICKETS (uncancelled and in perfect condition) to the Martin Johnsons' lecture "Jungle Depths of Borneo" at the Kalurah Temple in Binghamton, NY June 3, 1937 + a newspaper article about the upcoming lecture. One 9" x 11" color poster advertising Osa's book, PANTALONES - Adventures of A Baby Elephant - "A true story for children from the author's own observations of life in the jungle." Civic Music News article (Rochester, NY) article (with photo) about upcoming visit from Osa Johnson and her new film appearing in Rochester on April 9, 1942. Letter from a Kodak employee and fan of Osa Johnson to her booking agent, Clark H. Getts, regarding that lecture and Getts' reply to said fan. Clark H. Getts (b. 1893) was a public relations counsel and booking agent, who Osa Johnson married two years after her husband Martin Johnson's death. A "Civic Music News" article on Osa Johnson (with photograph) dated 1/8/38. A second Civic Music News article on Osa Johnson dated 1/1/38 about upcoming film presentation and lecture at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, NY. Civic Music News article dated March 20, 1937 "Interest in Visit of Mrs. Martin Johnson March 24 is Keen, Seat Demand Brisk." Article says she will be lecturing from her wheelchair - pictures said to be most remarkable ever made in Borneo.
