Spine lettering in gilt, long since turned black. 8vo,631pp. . Wright was the first head of was later known as the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Report is on 22 cities. All but San Francisco are east of the Mississippi. The first 10% of the book is on general conditions in each of the 22 cities. The rest of the book is divided into 32 sections spread over 500 pages. 1st section gives present ages starting at under 12, 12 through 38 and over 38 for each industry of each city. NYC lists 132 occupations so the exact age counts for each job is in a 4 page table. The sections are: (1) present age by industry, (2) present age by city, (3) Age at beginning of work by industry, (4) age at beginning of work by industry, (5) age at beginning of work by city, (6) years in present occupation by industry, (7) years in present occupation by city, ... following by similarly detailed tables on birth state or country, conjugal conditions, home conditions, MANY chapters on "cetain conditions of working women". Last are chapters on income. .
