From the Author's Edition of the Selected Works of John Tyndall, limited to 1000 numbered copies, but with no volume numbers within the set or listing of the total volumes. Purchased by us from science writer and philosopher Martin Gardner, and with his occasional pencil notes and underlinings, but not his owner's name. No date, but believed c.1900.
