Using the latest in paper engineering, this book brings to life six of Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous buildings. Includes the Robie House in Chicago, the Charles Ennis House, Fallingwater, the Johnson's Wax administrative building and research tower, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim. The term pop-up book is often applied to any book with three-dimensional pages, although properly the umbrella term movable book covers pop-ups, transformations, tunnel books, volvelles, flaps, pull-tabs, pop-outs, pull-downs, and more, each of which performs in a different manner The six buildings in this book all represent important stages in the life and work of Frank Lloyd Wright. The years between 1905 and 1909 saw Wright's Prairie House style fully realized. This period is sometimes referred to as Wright's "First Golden Age." The six houses featured in the book are Frederick C. Robie House, "The Battleship"; Mabel and Charles Ennis (Ennis-Brown) House; Edgar J. Kaufmann House, "Fallingwater"; S. C. Johnson & Son Administration Building and Research Tower; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. The architectural plans and drawings in this book were all supplied by the Frank Lloyd Wright Archives at Taliesin West, Scottsdale, AZ.
