Sobre este artículo
Vintage original 9 ½ x 14 ½" (24 x 36 cm.) tear ad to be used for magazine and newspaper publications, USA. Boris Karloff, Colin Clive, Mae Clarke, John Boles, Edward Van Sloan, Dwight Frye, dir: James Whale; Universal.
The ultimate classic horror film! The story of an obsessed scientist who wants to create a living being from exhumed body parts. Bela Lugosi and John Carradine were offered the title role before Boris Karloff was cast, making him a film legend. Bette Davis and Leslie Howard were early casting choices for the Clive and Clarke roles.
This black-and-white mini-poster is what is called a tear ad. It is the original promotional piece which was included in the original studio campaign materials which a magazine or newspaper could use for inclusion in their publication. It is not an ad torn from a magazine nor book, but issued on its own as a separate item in a campaign book or early press kit.
It is one sided and has a light fold near center. There is a one-inch tear at center right side, a bend with tiny tear at bottom right corner and a small tear at the bottom margin near the left corner. Hard to find and displays like a mini poster, NEAR FINE.
