Octavo, hardcover, name on age-toned endpaper, else VG in green boards with gilt lettering on spine in good green and white dj (not clipped) .with light wear at spine extremities and a tiny chip at top spine about 1/8 inch. A solid first edition of the 1961, copyright, (Franny was copyrighted for the New Yorker magazine in 1955 and was swiftly followed, in 1957 by ZOEY. Both stories are early, critical entries in a narrative series I'm doing about a family of settlers in twentieth-century New York,
