New York: Macaulay Company, 1925. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. 320 pp. Green cloth with gilt titles and front cover decoration. Corners slightly bumped, moderate spine slant, soiling to rear pastedown and text block edges, rear endpaper cut away, binding tight, interior clean. An illustration by E. Lambert for what appears to be an advertisement for the book is pasted to front free endpaper. The author was an O'Henry award winner in 1923 for "Towers of Fame" a short story in McClures magazine. She also wrote for the Liberator, a marxist periodical. Free is a romantic novel set in the American midwest. Scarce title..
