None 4to - over 9¾ - 12"" tall. 169pp. Bound in 3/4 burgundy polished calf over accenting decorative papered boards with 6 compartment spine decorated with floral gilt and title. Attractive binding with corners bumped. Engraved title page dated 1836, publishers title 1837. Complete with all plates called for and all executed on heavier wove paper with corresponding tissue guards, all pages have toned lightly and equally. Several pages are heavily foxed. A near fine copy of this well illustrated (50 steel plate engravings) work on the architecture of French Cathedrals. Assumed first edition.
