Sobre este artículo

Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1969. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Little, Brown And Company, 1969. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Dust Jacket. 1st Edition. The outstanding third novel by the inimitable Fowles, author of the earlier haunting novels The Collector and The Magus. His prose both dazzles and devastates, and this novel was also made into the brilliant movie of the same name starring Meryl Streep. Book is in VG condition. Spine is straight, no dog ears or torn pages and text block is very bright. Former owner's name is penned into ffep. No other markings to book. Minor shelf wear to board corners and ends of spine. Overall, it is a very tight and desirable copy.

Sinopsis

The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1969), by John Fowles, is a period novel inspired by the 1823 novel Ourika, by Claire de Duras, which Fowles translated to English during 1977 (and revised in 1994). He was a great aficionado of Thomas Hardy, and, in particular, likened his heroine, Sarah Woodruff, to Tess Durbeyfield, the protagonist of Hardy’s popular novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles (1891).
