ABOUT THE BOOK: Beautiful and endearing poetry written for friends accompanied by charming floral illustrated color woodblock illustrations on the verso pages in early Art Deco style for each poem. This smaller hardcover book was known as a "greeting book" and came in a series of titles. They became popular in Victorian times and continued their popularity into the early 20th century.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Wilbur Dick Nesbit (1871-1927), also known by the pen name Josh Wink, was an American poet and humorist. He is most known for his poem, Your Flag and My Flag, which was popular during World War I. Throughout his career, he contributed his humor writing to many publications, including the Chicago Inter Ocean, Chicago Evening Post, Chicago Tribune, and Baltimore News-American.
