Just getting away from it all? David Grayson, the pen name of American journalist Ray Stannard Baker, felt exactly the same. This is an account of a walking tour of the United States undertaking in the early years of the 20th century, and of the places he visited and the people he met whilst seeking a simple rural existence. .
