Sobre este artículo

London: Edward Hicks , 1891. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 10" by 6". None . The uncommon first edition of this volume comprised of memorials with portraits of fifty Quakers from 1840-90. A charming first edition edited by William Robinson, who presents fifty biographical sketches of the members of the Religious Society of Friends, a Christian movement founded in c1650 by George Fox, they are devoted to peaceful principles. These members are known as Quakers. Each memorial is accompanied by a portrait. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. With some minor faint damp marking to the front and rear board, barely noticeable. Internally, firmly bound. With some spotting affecting the fore edge and the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are generally very clean throughout, with only some offsetting to the occasional leaf. Some leaves are unopened, including the title page. Illustrated with a portrait per memorial. Collated, complete. Very Good Indeed
