The authors are noted on the title page as being the Director and Assistant Director of the Psychoanalytic Clinic in Vienna, and were in Freud's circle of followers, sharing a common preoccupation with female frigidity until they all emigrated from Nazi Germany in the immediate years following publication of this book.
