One of just 20 copies, with a 6 line inscription in ink on the title leaf to "Jackie and Pierre" from Dassault, dated 1975. Original cloth portfolio with mounted photograph to the upper cover, within is the printed title leaf and nine color photographs mounted to larger sheets, each signed in pencil below the image. A few scuffs and finger soiling to case but a wonderful copy.Olivier Dassault (1951-2021) had an interesting career as a French politician, billionaire businessman, and deputy in the National Assembly. A scion of the founding family of the aerospace engineering company Dassault Group, he worked in a number of roles within the family firm. He was a 1974 graduate of the Air Force Academy (Ecole de l'air) and held a master's degree in mathematics (1976) as well a doctorate in business management computing (1980). During his lifetime, he cultivated a passion for photography and published several books of his photographs. Dassault was also a composer and musician, and contributed scores for several movies in the late 1970s and early 1980s. After he graduated form the Air Force he set four world speed records. But his main passion was photography; he was represented in more than thirty exhibitions and published thirteen photography books. He died in a tragic helicopter accident in France in March of 2021.
