[4], 310, [2] pp. Half-blk cloth over blue tweed boards, red lettrng (mnr dustsoilng, edgewear), w/ d.j. great pen & ink cover art by Irv Docktor (chppng at ft of spine, edgewear, couple mnr clsd tears, old tape repairs), still VG/G-. First edition, stated, of this mystery later made into the 1957 film, starring Jane Russell , Ralph Meeker, Keenan Wynn, Adolphe Menjou, Fred Clark & Una Merkel. This was Russells last film.
