Kyoto: Kyoto Shoin, 1983. Book. Fine. Hardcover. First Edition. Square quarto, (11.75 x 12"), white cloth covered boards with gilt titles and spine titles, in white dust jacket with full color photographs of garden landscapes. 107 pp. including afterword by the author. TEXT IN JAPANESE AND ENGLISH. A gorgeous photographic study by renowned photographer Mizuno Katsuhiko, presenting full color, full page (and some double page edge-to-edge) photographs of the most famous historical traditional gardens of these three areas of Kyoto. (The book is one in a series of three). With photographs of gardens and buildings in shrines, temples and imperial villas in all four seasons. At the rear of the book are comprehensive descriptions of the gardens photographed (in Englsih). A carefully crafted study of the landscape gardens that have made Japanese gardens (and especially those in Kyoto) famous around the world. This volume is in excellent condition; clean, bright, fresh, unmarked and unblemished in a tight, clean, unmarked dust jacket which shows light yellowing at and some creasing at top edges, else fine. Fine in very good plus dust jacket. A very attractive copy of an uncommon first edition..
