Translated from the French by Helen Morgenthau Fox, Forestier (1861-1930), an important early twentieth century French landscape architect, presents his notebook of plans and sketches for walled gardens; backgrounds, accents, tre walls and hedges, terraces and more are addressed. Most of the designs are smaller gardens and are Spanish influenced. Numerous illustrations with-in t text. Occasional underlining in ink, owners stamp on a couple leaves, covers rubbed, still, in all a very good copy.
