Sobre este artículo

New York: Doubleday, Doran , 1929. Hardcover. Very Good Plus. FIRST EDITION. Top Edge Gilt. No dustjacket. Cracked spine, still tight. Lightly age-tanned. Fore-edges untrimmed. Mild shelfwear with two white scrapes, 1.25" and .5", to front board. Corners lightly nudged. Spine caps gently folded under. Gilt lettering debossed on tan background to spine of black cloth-covered boards. Clean, and bright. 401 pp with indices. HEAVY. Requires EXTRA shipping if going overseas. This book shows what poetry seeks to accomplish, by illustrating this from the history of English poetry, and by suggesting that in spite of its present short-comings poetry may prove as valuable in the future as it has proved in the past. Written in three parts : The Nature of Poetry ; English Poetry and English History ; Poetry and the World To-Day.
