A rare, Fench translation of a very uncommon work, originally published, in German, by the Naturhistorisches Museum, in Vienna, in four parts (1976-1982), as Gastropoden aus den Losensteiner Schichten der Umgebung von Losenstein (Oberösterreich). It incudes the complete description, with many new genera and species, of some Middle Albian to Lower Cenomanian (i.e., earliest upper and latest lower Cretaceous) malacofaunas of which the quality of the preserved specimens is quite good. Very early representatives of the Muricidae and Cancellariidae are included. Well-illustrated. Translated by J. Pietresson de Saint Aubin. Loosely inserted: a letter signed by the association's president (dated 20 avril 1988), making excuses for the delay in publication. A very good, clean copy.
