Sobre este artículo

San Francisco, CA: Harper & Row, 1980. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. FIRST EDITION. This book was written by Vanauken before his famous A Severe Mercy, but it was published afterward (though Wikipedia calls it a sequel.) The enclosed letter, dated Dec 3, 1985, is addressed "Dear Pat & Bob."  Vanauken refers to them as "rediscovered family." The letter, signed "Van," is hand written, front and back. In the letter he comments on Gateway to Heaven and, among other things, says that the heroine of the book, Mary, "...is not supposed to be Davy (or anyone else.)  Davy was his wife about whom A Severe Mercy was written. The book itself is also inscribed to Pat and Bob. Books signed by Vanauken are scarce. San Francisco: Harper & Row, 1980. Quarter gold cloth on brown paper. Uncut fore edge.  288 pp.  The dust wrapper shows a couple holding hands with sunlight shining between them.  Green and black text on the front. The book is in fine condition while the dust wrapper is VG with edge wear and bits of fading and browning. The dust wrapper is price clipped - presumably by Vanauken since this book was a gift from him to them. Full refund if not satisfied.
