Blue cloth hardcover with black lettering and illustration on front cover, without dust jacket, stated "Price 20 Cents" on title page, 288 pages including many black-and-white and coloured illustrations throughout; very gently used, only tiny traces of shelf wear to cover corner tips and spine ends, tight in binding, tiny religious stamp glued to front cover, child's name printed large on fore edge, her printed signature on free front endpaper and again written as an adult (greatly improved Joan!) with also someone else' street address, scattered toned spots on about 20-25 pages (from now removed leaves having been pressed between pages), otherwise every page very clean and unmarked, coloured illustrations bright and vibrant.
