Rand McNally. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1960. Hardcover. Red cloth covers with bold gilt titles to the cover and spine. A tightly bound copy with a clean, unmarked interior. Colorful illustrated end papers. There is spine end and corner bumping, light tanning to the cover top and bottom edges. Overall in Very Good+ condition. The DJ is clipped with cover scuffing, some tearing to the edges with a peice missing of off the bottom spine end. "A story, based on real events, about a boy and a half-Arabian mare who enter the Palio, an annual race in Siena, Italy, with all the pageantry of a medieval contest." ; Color / Black & White Illustrations ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 237 pages .
