He waxes communicative and tells her of four wagers hehas made with Lord Barrymore—the one to drive the geese, the fourth to marry within a twelvemonth a certain beautiful lady whom he has never seen. "The beautiful lady" turns out to be his confidante, though he does not at first know her identity. A charming romance of olden days.
