Although Su Shi was renowned for his poems, his official career suffered hardships and he was persecuted unceasingly. However, he never changed his positive characters. He was an expert in Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and in Song dynasty where there were a great many talented litterateur, his poems, essays, calligraphy and paintings outshone. And he was more versatile and humorous than other talented persons. His characters such as progressiveness, integrity, benevolence and open-mindedness forever shine in the starry sky of Chinese history.
