Sobre este artículo
[San Francisco]: Geary Theatre, 1938. Ephemera. 1 sheet, illustrations. 12 x 6 in. One horizontal fold. Very good. Playbill for the San Francisco leg of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union tour for Pins and Needles, a Broadway musical hit. Lists 19 musical numbers and sketches, including "Mussolini Handicap," "Economics I," "One Big Union for Two," "Vassar Girl Finds a Job," "Slumming Party," among others. Pins and Needles was a musical revue with a book by Arthur Arent, Marc Blitzstein, Emmanuel Eisenberg, Charles Friedman, David Gregory, Joseph Schrank, Arnold B. Horwitt, John Latouche and Harold Rome, and with music and lyrics by Rome. It is the only hit ever produced by a labor union, and the only time when a group of unknown nonprofessionals brought a successful musical to Broadway. Choreography by the Russian Jewish dancer and actor Benjamin Zemach.
