Melchior Franck (circa 1579 - 1639) was a German composer of the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. He was a hugely prolific composer of Protestant church music, especially motets, and assisted in bringing the stylistic innovations of the Venetian School north across the Alps into Germany. Editor Eilliam Weinert serves as Professor of Conducting and Ensembles at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Weinert has also frequently conducted opera and symphonic repertoire, and has performed extensively as a recitalist and oratorio soloist.
