This is a Near Fine Copy of this book in Brown cloth boards with gilt title lettering to both spine and upper cover with black ruled borders and with bevelled edges to the outer boards.One previous inscription to a blank front endpaper dated 1889. Illustrated with 24 stereoscopic views of the White Mountains and with double page map by the Publisher's at the beginning of the book.Photoplated by Harroun & Bierstadt the Publisher's with blank verso's to the plates and with red lined borders to all the plates and the accompanying text.All the page edges are in gilt.Yellow endpapers and without any Former owner's names present.The Stereoscope with folding viewer is securely folded into the book on the front pastedown.There is a descriptive page at the front of the book demonstrating how to operate the Stereoscope '' secure a position where the light strikes the picture.Adjust the focus to suit your eyes by moving the adjustable flap which holds the lenses,and there is a beautiful natural effect which the stereoscope will produce '' A very attractive copy of a very rare book,8vo 98pp First Edition [1876] .
