Six spine compartments between double gilt rules; red morocco spine label in second compartment with gilt-tooled title: Getz' Forms. Complete imprint: "Reading, Pa. George Getz. Philadelphia--George & Byington, Geo. W. Mentz & Son. Printed by John C. Clark, 60 Dock Street, Philadelphia." Running title: Precedents in Conveyancing. A scarce ante-bellum legal form book. Of particular note is the form for a bond to be made before a marriage to permit the woman to make a will after marriage to dispose of those furniture, clothing, and other goods she owned prior to the marriage. In Very Good Condition: cover is rubbed and soiled; slight loss of leather at head of spine; corners are rubbed through; foxing throughout; otherwise clean and tight.
