Muller (1890-1967) is perhaps best known as a Nobel Prize-winning geneticist who first showed that exposure to radiation will produce mutations. This first biography of Muller was written by one of his students, Elof Axel Carlson. Carlson traces the evolution of Muller's ideas, clearly and simply explains his considerable contribution to the history of genetics and explores the personal, social, and political circumstances that determined the direction of his work (from the front jacket flap).
