Sobre este artículo

Garden City & New York: Garden City Publishing Company, 1923. Dreiser's fifth novel, an autobiographical work on art and sexuality, was originally published by John Lane in 1915. The publisher withdrew it, fearing legal action by anti-vice organizations who considered it obscene. Support for Dreiser by major American literary figures turned the tide and it was reissued by Horace Liveright in 1923. Not considered Dreiser's best work, its notoriety made it a best seller. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the Reprint edition. Black cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 736 pages. Red topstain, others rough-cut. Previous-owner inscription on the FFEP. Minor rubbing at the margins, and a small tear at the foot of the spine. A solid copy, lacking a dustjacket. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Reprint.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
