Faint black smudges along fore-edge of first 5 leaves. Minor foxing on first three, and last- three leaves. Damp-stain on lower left-hand corner of last page seeped through 6 leaves. Interior pages lightly tanned and remarkably clean. Sharply printed text, visible throughout. Includes preface. (ESTC T102141) (Adams, 79-16) (Sabin, 63069). This politically charged pamphlet, edited by Hugh Boyd, contains the inflammatory speeches of the British statesman, William Pitt, Earl of Chatham (1708-1778). Pitt took a moderate stance prior to the American Revolution, advocating that parliament maintain sovereignty, but cede to the colonists' demands to fundamental liberties. If they did not, Pitt warned, Britan would lose the American colonies. (Wikipedia).
