Sobre este artículo

London: George Routledge and Sons, 1865. Hardback three quarter dark leather with marbled boards, with matching endpapers. Gilt titles to spine. Top edge gilt. No date but circa 1865. Date of publication suggested by the Bodleian Library. Scarce in this format. Fairy tale by Charles Perrault, rewritten and illustrated by Cruikshank. Boards slightly rubbed. Original soft covers are bound in. Six illustrations with tissue guards. 30 pages, 6 unnumbered leaves of plates. Slight rubbing to the edges of the spine. The binding has split to the inside rear hinge, so that the book block falls away - but is still held in place (see photograph). Front end paper is reinforced with archival tape. 180 x 140 mm (7 x 5½ inches).
