Biography of the American composer and pianist, best known for "Rhapsody in Blue" (1924), "An American in Paris" (1928), "I Got Rhythm" (1930), and the opera "Porgy and Bess" (1935), written by Isaac Goldberg, an American journalist, author, critic, translator, and editor. Goldberg also was literary editor at the American Freeman from 1923 to 1932 and music reviewer for American Mercury from 1930 to 1932. No dust jacket. Royal blue boards, silver and red ornamentation at spine, rubbing at head and tail.
