Large, heavy book, fine blue cloth, gilt lettering, border and star bright with dark blue background at spine top, detailed map of Washington's troop movements and of the Thirteen Colonies inside covers and adjacent end papers, 599 lightly browned pages, owner's stamp at pages' bottom exterior edge. DJ glossy red, white and blue background with illustration of Washington and his horse nearby on front, b/w photo of Flexner on back with praise from Dumas Malone, Marcus Cunliffe and Orville Prescott. DJ has three microtears at top front edge, light smudge at top front right, very slightly rubbed at front bookfold edge, slight surface wear with two tiny scratches at spine top edge, slight wear to spine bottom edge, tiny crease at top back edge. Near Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
