Signed on the front free endpaper: "To Louis _ , with the hope that the hours spent reading this book on President Ford will profitably reflect the years I have spent covering him. J.F. terHorst." Additional signature from President Ford below inscription. Jerry terHorst (1922-2010) was the White House Press Secretary during the first month of the Ford Administration and a longtime friend of Gerald R. Ford. He resigned in light of Ford's pardon of President Nixon and quickly authored this book on the new president.
