[1910 GERMAN BAVARIA TRAVEL PHOTO ALBUM 75 matte photos varied subjects] GERMANY – 1910 HANDWRITTEN ON FRONT COVER, Bavarian towns and scenes, 75 period matte photos on stiff photo paper mounted on 12 stiff pages of an album bound by twine at left (back cover detached but present), 13" x 11", mostly 4-5 mounted photos per page, many photos with captions in white, chalk-like marker with a few captions rubbed out, photos range from about 2-1/2" x 4" to about 4" x 6-1/2", well-to-do family with good camera equipment taking a leisurely tour through Bavaria, Germany, subjects vary from buildings (presumably some which were destroyed in WWII) and street scenes, local residents in traditional dress, horse-pulled vehicles, mountains and lakes, and members of the tour group, among the photos as captioned are "Van dem Cooks bureau" (suggesting the group was a part of a Cook's tour), "Der Schliersee – mit dem Dorf" (a small town viewed from across the lake with the town on its shores and mountains around it), "Der Henkersteg" (Hangman's Walkway in Nuremberg, a famous covered bridge rebuilt after heavy damage in WWII), "Saint Gumbertus Kirche am Marktplatz" (famed church in Ansbach), three photos show a woman holding a newborn in Munich, among the towns named are Nuremberg, Rothenberg, Garmisch, Linderhof, in general the photographs of varied subjects capture a bygone way of life in Bavarian Germany in the early 1900's years before World War I /// CONDITION: photos well-preserved, album paper covers worn at edges, twine binding loosened, back cover detached but present. keywords: vintage photographs, early 1900's Germany, Bavaria, travel photo album, travel memorabilia
