[Brisbane, Qld. : s.n., 1880]. Admission ticket, 75 x 113 mm, printed recto only on orange card; the ticket is numbered in manuscript '123', along with the price 2/6, and is signed lower left by the Club's Hon. Secretary, J. Bauman; verso blank; fine condition. [TOGETHER WITH] Gentleman's Ticket to the same ball, numbered 149, with the price of 5/-, also signed by Bauman; identical format to the Lady's Ticket, but printed on buff card; fine condition. A most attractive pair of tickets to the masquerade ball of 1880 organised by Brisbane's German Glee Club, an amateur singing society. Interesting to note that the admission price for a lady's ticket was half that of a gentleman's - surely in order to boost female attendance.
