Half marbled boards and black leather; corners bumped, edges rubbed, 3 cm long narrow strip of paper loss to lower fr. edge, v. slight rubbing to spine ends and panel ridges, otherwise clean and firm. series t.p. + t.p. + xii + 614 (but pagination inclusive of t.p.s) + (2, pub.list); main fault is edge-tanning throughout which renders edge fragile, this typical of German and French publications especially of this date due to low grade wood-pulp paper, bottom outer tips of fr. end-paper and next leaf chipped, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. First two editions issued in 1903 and 1910. Scarce in UK and not 17.5 cm x 24 cmlisted in COPAC/JISC.
