Maroon cloth with gilt sp. lettering, fine bar 3 vvery small dents centre sp. f/piece + xii + 324, 258 text ills, mostly photos but also crystal diagrams; front pastedown has green stamp 'War OPrisoners Aid World's Committee, Geneva, Switzerland witth YMCA logo in centre, rear one has frustratingly incomplete round purple stamp: U.S. ....RSHIP Examined by 519', edge-tanning to end-papers and a sm. sig. top fr. pastedown, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. I feel the stamps add curiosity to this copy. Billed as 9th Impression on t.p. these suggest it was likely issued in 1940s. 16 cm x 23 cm
