Sobre este artículo

New York: Whittlesey House (McGraw-Hill), 1943. 2nd Printing. Hardcover. C.B. Falls. 354p. A hardcover book in good condition with a like dustjacket. Light scuff marks at the bottom of the spine. Top corners lightly bumped. Former owner's gift inscription on front free endpaper. Pen marks on pages 206-209, but the rest of the text is unmarked. Binding tight. The jacket is worn along the edges, with some mild chipping at the head and foot of the spine. There is a narrow closed tear across the middle of the spine. Dampstaining on the spine as well, mainly alongside the bottom few inches. Front flap is price-clipped. On the whole, the jacket is essentially intact, though in visibly used condition. An early edition, scarce in dustjacket, printed in 1943. Poole won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1918 for HIS FAMILY. This work chronicles the efforts and risk-taking of businessmen and politicians who helped build Chicago into a powerhouse city. Illustrated by C.B. Falls.
