Sobre este artículo

New York: Harcourt, Brace & World, Inc. [1967], 1967. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo. [8], 3-186 pp. Orange cloth with black and gold lettering on the spine. Price of $4.50 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Wideman's first novel. The author was a graduate of the Iowa Writer's Workshop, a Rhodes Scholar, and played on Oxford's basketball team for three years. He then worked as a Professor at UPenn. Here Wideman writes about a young black man recovering from a drug addiction, and an older college professor who is a closeted gay man. The two meet and interact in unexpected ways. A fascinating mid-20th century novel, written by a black author, who tells the stories of two characters with tenderness and grit. A Near Fine book with the topstain largely faded away; dust jacket is Very Good+ with minor edge wear and the lettering on the spine panel faded from yellow to white.
