The Glass blowers is about the Bussons, the author's forebears, before and during the French Revolution. An engraved glass in her posession, and an old letter found by chance among family papers left by her grandfather, George du Maurier, led the author on a voyage of discovery. the result is a novel which has a quiet intensity of feeling.
