Comprised of comprehensive guide to glassmaking in the Weald of Sussex and Surrey, with also a discussion of the few forest glasshouses outside of the Weald. Describing glassmaking techniques and the families concerned with it. A significant contribution to local, social, and economic history.Illustrated with twenty-two full-page plates and many more vignettes, with a folding map to rear. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very good, with light marking to the cloth, mainly to the spine. Light shelf wear to the extremities. Ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Dust wrapper is generally smart, with light edge wear and the odd closed tear. Light creasing to the wrap, with the occasional mark, with a larger mark to the front. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
