Sinopsis
The Glassblower of Murano is a tale of two times. Modern Day: a young woman who was born in Venice and raised in England. After her husband leaves her, she moves to her birthland to pursue the art of glassblowing, a skill that her ancestor Corradino Manin mastered. Venice, 1681: Venetian mirrors are more precious than gold, and the Council of Ten keeps the glassblowers of Murano imprisoned on an island to protect their secrets of the trade. Corradino Manin sells his methods to Louis XIV of France to protect his secret daughter.
Reseñas
This one has it all, history, mystery, romance, art, travel, what more could you want! A nice read that flows well, with two stories, one in the 17th century and one in the 20th century that bounce back and forth seamlessly between generations of the same family. And, since I have been to Venice, it was like being back there again and walking the streets, visiting the churches and seeing the beautiful glass again. A very enjoyable book for all.
